Claudiu Doltu will be the representative of Romania at the World Bank, where
he will be replacing Anca Ciobanu, official sources told Mediafax. Doltu
will terminate his office as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finances
today, by decision of PM Tariceanu, and will become alternative Director
Executive in the constituency led by the Netherlands at the World Bank. The
constituency headed by Director Executive Jan Willem van der Kaalj, from the
Netherlands, includes Romania, the Netherlands, Armenia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, FYROM, R. of Moldova and
Ukraine. The executive directors have a two-year term and are in charge of
general World Bank operations according to the tasks delegated to them by
the WB Governors’ Council.
