Mobile operator Cosmote Romania extended its distribution network through company-owned and partner shops by 30 percent, reaching 530 units nationwide. The majority of the company's 20 chief partners exclusively sell Cosmote products and services. In addition, prepaid cards and rechargeable cards can be purchased from 10,000 points of sale nationwide. Cosmote has expanded its own network from 10 in December 2005 to 17 at present. The mobile operator's service area currently covers 90 percent of the population and 75 percent of the country's surface.
