The number of employees (in the units with four employees and more) stood in May at 4.604 million, by 14,300 persons more versus April, according to the data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics, quoted by Rompres.

As many as 1.663 million persons were working in industry, 89,200 in agriculture, hunting and related services, 33,600 in forestry and related services, 132,500 in energy, gas and water fields, 345,100 in construction, and 677,800 in retail and wholesale trade, car, motorcycle and household goods repair.

The number of employees in hotels and restaurants reached 90,300, in postal and telecom services - 83,500, in financial brokerage - 60,200, in insurance and pension houses - 12,900, in research and IT - 56,200, in public administration and defence - 176,700, in education - 402,100, and in healthcare and social assistance - 331,400.
