The World Bank financially backs the implementation of the e-governance
project in Romania, said Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu.
He asked the competent authorities to draw up by year-end a strategy and an
action plan for the implementation of the e-governance system in Romania.
Tariceanu said that the citizens need online services from authorities.
Thus, a situation of the health and financial systems can be accessed at any
moment, with an exact number of insured persons and taxpayers, said the
Prime Minister. The Government also wants a stronger presence of IT experts
in public administration, an open and single concept on public services
provided through electronic means at national level as well as a standard
format and circulation of electronic documents within the public
administration system.
