Major shareholder in E.ON Moldova, the German company E.ON Energie AG, set
up, at the end of June, a representative office in Romania, called E.ON
Energie Romania, the new company providing general management of E.ON
Moldova after January 1, 2007. “In keeping with the European norms, E.ON
Moldova will have to separate, until July 1, 2007, its distribution
activities from the supply activities, into two different entities. E.ON
Romania will take over 51 per cent of the capital owned by the two
companies,” according to E.ON Moldova representatives. The legal separation
of supply from distribution could take place in early 2007.
“We hope that as of January 2007, we shall start alongside the new
structures, so that we have already acquired expertise until July 1,”
according to the officials of E.ON Moldova. E.ON Energie Romania has an
equity capital worth RON 800,000, the major shareholder being E.ON Energie
AG, with a participation of 89 per cent. The electric energy distribution
and supply company E.ON Moldova, ex branch of Electrica, registered a
turnover amounting to ROL 1.08 bln in 2005, and a gross profit amounting to
RON 4.35 bln.
