The impact study for the environment and last details regarding the Rosia
Montana mining project, in the Apuseni Mountains, were presented last Friday
at Alba Iulia in a public debate.
The debate was called "Let's save Rosia Montana!" and the meeting was
attended by representatives of the Alba County Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, "Pro Rosia Montana" organization, county councilors,
parliamentarians and officials of the Gabriel Resources company, the
institution that plans to extract gold and silver from Rosia Montana.
Gabriel Resources made a presentation of the mining project, the
environmental impact study and presented the last details regarding the
investment they want to make in Rosia Montana.
They underlined the fact that the mining works will be made according to the
highest standards existing in this domain regarding the protection of the
environment and the risks assumed will be kept under control. Gabriel
Resources officials also announced the start of the public campaign
regarding this mining project. The debates on this issue will continue until
the end of August with the company making all the documents and studies
regarding the project available.
Gabriel Resources, is a Canadian-Romanian company that wants to invest 700
million dollars in the largest gold an silver deposit in Europe.
