Amway Romania Post 25 million USD in Turnover
Direct sales company Amway Romania Marketing last year posted a turnover of 25.13 million USD, up by 62 percent over 2004. Company's general manager George Popescu explained that this result was achieved thanks to the reputation the direct sales system has in Romania, as well as to the growth of the product portfolio, nutritional supplements and home care products.

Amway has developed a multi-level-marketing system for the sell of beauty products, health products and home care products. Some 95 percent of the products are made in the USA, while the rest are made in Ireland and Germany.

As far as the Romanian market is concerned, 60 percent in the sales were reported for the Health&Beauty products division. The company's growth strategy includes the launch of new products that would lead to a 40-50 percent increase in the turnover for this year.

The exclusive products sold under the Amway brand are the result of years of investments in research and development. At present Amway has 500 certifications world wide. Established on November 10, 1997, Amway Romania Marketing at present has a 600 products portfolio.

The Romanian subsidiary is also a founder member of the Direct Sales Association in Romania. The association was started to gather the most important companies in the field of direct sales in order to promote the best commercial practices and the consumer protection.
