Hyundai sales on the Romanian market increased by 96% in the first semester of the current year, comparing with the same period of 2005 with approximately 3,350 cars being sold. The sales for Hyundai Accent increased by 182% to 1,896 units, while the ones for the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) Santa Fe increased by 223% to 552 units. Hyundai Accent has been sold on the Romanian market since February 2006, is constructed in Europe and is the first model that is sold tax-fee on the Romanian market. Hyundai Auto Romania has a chain of 36 dealers in Europe.
