The Ministry of Health next year will spend 350 million euros obtained from
the collection of the tax on tobacco and alcohol products for investment
programs in the public health infrastructure, announced on Saturday Health
Minister Eugen Nicolaescu in a press conference. The official said
collections from the vice tax surpassed the most optimistic expectations.
From this money, the Health Ministry will allocate a few hundred thousand
euros to the endowment of state-of-the-art equipment to the Oncology
Institute and the Institute of Urology and Transplants of Cluj-Napoca, said
the minister.
