The milling and bakery producer Pambac Bacau closed the first six months of
this year with turnover worth 23 million dollars (18.5 million euros) and a
profit rate of 5%. Pambac saw a 28% growth in its volume of sales, while in
terms of value, company sales grew by 25% against the same period in 2005.
"The growth is generated by sales of flour and pasta. The Grania flour brand
managed, one year from its launch, to put Pambac on the third place on its
specific retail market, with a 12% market share," stated Alin Giurea,
general manager of Pambac. He estimates a 31% growth in turnover for this
year.
According to these estimates, Pambac's turnover will exceed 40 million
euros. "We are working on a project to diversify our porfolio with different
cake, confection and cookie varieties, a project, which will become
operative in the last quarter of this year. In the first stage, we will only
target the local and regional markets with this type of products," says
Giurea.
